The goals of the new charity LUV – Leprosy at Utale Village are :-

1. to help improve the living conditions of the patients at the Leprosy Community in Utale 2 Village, Balaka District, Malawi, Africa.
2. to raise awareness of the true nature of leprosy in the villages of the District surrounding Utale 2.
3. to improve the quality of care offered by the Utale 2 Health Clinic.
4. to raise the standard of living of the people in Utale 2 Village and the surrounding villages in Balaka District.
5. to raise awareness in UK of the Utale 2 leprosy community.

The initial use of funds raised will be used to stock a shop run by the leprosy patients (estimate £600), to build and maintain a back-up generator for the patients (estimate £2,000), to build and maintain a maize mill for the surrounding villages to use with monies going to the patients (estimate £7,500), to build and maintain a water-pump in Utale 2.
